CryptoGoat: The Awakening of Goatzilla (Part 1)
The Portal to the Unknown
CryptoGoat (CG) and Kelly Softmane had barely stepped through the swirling portal when the world around them shifted into an almost otherworldly serenity. The chaotic hum of the multiverse was replaced with the tranquil sounds of nature—a soft breeze rustling ancient trees, the faint chirp of unseen birds, and the calming rush of a distant stream.
“Well,” CG said, taking in the vibrant, grassy hills dotted with glowing wildflowers. “This is… suspiciously peaceful. No talking vegetables, no shadowy wraiths. Something’s wrong.”
“Or maybe the multiverse is giving us a break,” Kelly suggested, brushing a strand of fur from her face as she knelt to examine the shimmering grass beneath their feet. “This place feels ancient… like it hasn’t been touched in centuries.”
“Ancient and untouched usually means something big lives here,” CG muttered, his golden eyes scanning the horizon.
As if to punctuate his statement, the ground beneath them rumbled softly, and a deep, resonant roar echoed in the distance.
Kelly looked up sharply. “You were saying?”
Signs of Something Bigger
The pair trekked through the lush valley, their eyes darting between the towering trees and the jagged peaks in the distance. As they walked, the idyllic beauty of the land began to give way to signs of destruction. Massive claw marks scarred the trunks of ancient trees, and enormous hoofprints were pressed deep into the ground, glowing faintly with golden energy.
Kelly knelt beside one of the prints, running her fingers along its edge. “These hoofprints are massive… and they’re recent.”
CG crouched beside her, his horns glowing faintly in response to the energy radiating from the ground. “I’ve seen energy like this before. It feels familiar… but I can’t place it.”
Kelly flipped through her journal, stopping at a sketch of a colossal goat-like figure surrounded by swirling storms. “What if it’s Goatzilla?”
CG raised an eyebrow. “Goatzilla? Sounds like something out of a bad multiverse comic book.”
“It’s more than a myth,” Kelly insisted. “The legends say Goatzilla is one of the oldest beings in existence, created during the formation of the multiverse to guard its balance. It’s both protector and destroyer, depending on what threatens its domain.”
Before CG could respond, another roar shook the valley, this time much closer.
“Great,” CG muttered, standing and dusting off his coat. “Looks like we’re about to get the full Goatzilla experience.”
The First Encounter
They reached the crest of a hill, and there it was—a sight both awe-inspiring and terrifying. Goatzilla stood in the heart of the valley, its immense form blending seamlessly with the rugged landscape. Its dark, weathered fur shimmered faintly in the sunlight, and its massive chameleon-colored horns crackled with arcs of multiversal energy. Golden veins of light pulsed beneath its skin, radiating a quiet but overwhelming power.
Kelly gasped, her journal slipping from her hands. “It’s… beautiful.”
“Yeah, if you’re into giant, unstoppable forces of destruction,” CG quipped, though his usual confidence faltered as Goatzilla’s glowing eyes locked onto them.
The beast let out a low, guttural growl, its breath rippling through the air like a storm front.
CG raised his hands slowly. “Easy, big guy. We’re just passing through. No need to turn us into goat pancakes.”
Goatzilla took a step forward, the ground trembling beneath its weight. Its horns began to glow brighter, arcs of lightning sparking between them.
Kelly tugged on CG’s arm. “We need to run!”
“No,” CG said, his horns glowing faintly in response. “It’s not attacking yet. I think it’s trying to figure out what we are.”
“Or whether we’re worth eating,” Kelly shot back.
Goatzilla reared up slightly, its roar echoing through the valley. The force knocked both of them off their feet, and the beast began to charge.
A Chaotic Escape
“Okay, now we run!” CG shouted, pulling Kelly to her feet as the massive creature thundered toward them.
They sprinted down the hill, dodging falling debris as Goatzilla’s hooves tore through the landscape like an earthquake. A massive boulder hurtled past them, narrowly missing Kelly as she stumbled.
“Keep moving!” CG shouted, grabbing her arm and pulling her forward. “If we stay in the open, we’re toast!”
They darted into a dense grove of glowing trees, the canopy offering some protection as Goatzilla’s massive form struggled to maneuver through the narrower terrain.
Kelly leaned against a tree, panting. “It’s… not following us. Why isn’t it following us?”
CG glanced back, his horns dimming. “It’s protecting something. It doesn’t care about us unless we get too close.”
Kelly’s eyes widened. “The legends say Goatzilla guards the Nexus Core fragments. That energy we saw—it’s coming from the Core.”
Before CG could respond, a strange, mechanical whirring sound cut through the air. They turned to see a group of shadowy figures emerging from the treeline, armed with glowing weapons and strange devices.
“Let me guess,” CG said, stepping in front of Kelly. “These guys aren’t here for the sightseeing.”
A New Threat
The leader of the group, a tall figure clad in dark armor, stepped forward, its voice distorted through a mechanical mask. “Step aside, travelers. The fragment belongs to us.”
CG smirked, his horns beginning to glow. “Sorry, pal. I don’t think Big G over there is gonna let you take his shiny toy.”
The figure raised a hand, and the others leveled their weapons. “Then we’ll take it by force.”
The first shot rang out, but CG was already moving, deflecting the blast with an energy shield conjured from his horns. “Kelly, find cover!”
Kelly darted behind a fallen log as the grove erupted into chaos. CG charged forward, his glowing hooves slamming into the ground and sending a shockwave through the attackers.
“You picked the wrong goat to mess with!” CG shouted, leaping over a volley of glowing projectiles.
The battle raged on, but above it all, Goatzilla let out another roar. The massive beast began to move again, its horns crackling with energy as it lumbered toward the grove.
Kelly peeked out from her hiding spot, her eyes wide. “CG, it’s coming this way!”
“Perfect,” CG muttered, dodging another attack. “Let’s hope it takes care of these guys for us.”
A Cliffhanger Ending
As the shadowy attackers turned their attention to the approaching behemoth, Goatzilla unleashed a devastating blast of energy from its horns, obliterating the treetops and sending both friend and foe scattering.
CG grabbed Kelly, pulling her deeper into the grove as the ground trembled violently. “We’re not sticking around for this fight. Let’s move!”
But as they ran, a second portal appeared ahead of them, its swirling light different from the one they’d arrived through.
Kelly hesitated. “What if it leads somewhere worse?”
CG glanced back at the chaos behind them—Goatzilla’s roars mingling with the sound of explosions. “Worse than this? Let’s take our chances!”
They dove through the portal, the roar of Goatzilla fading behind them as they disappeared into the unknown.
